In their continuing fight against match fixing charges, tennis authorities are stepping up the ante.
Legal action has been started by the French tennis authorities in a bid to stop internet betting companies taking bets on this year’s French Open at Roland Garros.
French Open organisers have moved to shut down internet-betting markets on their tournament by launching a case against three leading companies. The Guardian reports that the cases were brought to two separate courts in Paris and Liège in Belguim.
The three defendants, Betfair, Ladbrokes and the Bwin .Interactive Entertainment were surprised by the files, even more so as to why they have been singled out over their competitors.
